Our family has a very compelling reason for coming to Dr. Mary Grace Pennella’s office for chiropractic adjustments. My son was born by C-section in mid-April of 2006. From the time we brought him home, until he was four months old, he would not turn his head to the left. No matter what we did, he refused to turn his head to left for any reason. We even tried to turn his head to the left while he was sleeping, but he always resisted. We believe that because his neck was twisted because the doctor pulled him out during delivery by his twisted head and neck, his neck was somehow damaged during delivery. Because he would not turn his head to the left, the back of his head started to flatten dramatically on one side. We had taken him to 3 or 4 other chiropractors before bringing him to Dr. Pennella, but we saw absolutely no improvement with the other chiropractors. The more time went by, the more pronounced the flattening of his head became and the more concerned we were about him being unable to turn his head. We were talking to all our family and friends about the situation with our son’s head. One of our acquaintances suggested we take him to Dr. Pennella, as she specializes in adjusting atlases. We were ready to try anything to remedy this situation as his head was becoming more and more flattened by the day.

            When we arrived at Dr. Pennella’s for his first adjustment, she was ready for us. She did not keep us waiting at all. As a matter of fact, we didn’t even sit down in her waiting room. She brought us right in to be adjusted. The first adjustment only took about 5 minutes total and at the end our son, who was at that time 4 ½ months old, was turning his head to the left with not problem and obviously no pain. Dr. Pennella said that his atlas was out and had probably been out since birth. After his first adjustment, we saw a significant improvement in his range of motion. We started regular treatments for our son with Dr. Pennella from that day forward.  Our son is now 3 years old and is still doing great.

            After the success our son had with his atlas, I visited Dr. Pennella through my second pregnancy and felt significant relief from pregnancy related issues. We now have an 8-month old daughter who has also been seeing Dr. Pennella since she was 5 days old. Delivered by c-section, she had the same symptoms that our son did at that age, but we caught the problem very early with her. Her atlas was out, too, but through consistent adjustments by Dr. Pennella, she has shown no sign of not being able to turn her head or having her head flatten. Both of our children have benefited significantly from Dr. Pennella’s expertise in diagnosing and adjusting atlas problems, not to mention her overall approach to chiropractic. Our whole family visits Dr. Pennella’s office at the very least once a month, and my parents who live in Phoenix, also see her when they are here visiting us.

            Dr. Pennella gives our entire family chiropractic care in a timely, caring and thorough manner. I believe our son, and possibly our daughter, would have suffered significant physically development if it had not been for Dr. Pennella. We are grateful for her expertise and her caring manner.
